Peter’s Chocolate & Spirits Pairing Flight

Beer & Wine. These adult staples are what are most often displayed in the chocolate pairing game. But lately the other spirits are booming into the mix of popularity. Experience the best of all worlds with these ideal liquor pairings. Experiment with a crafted cocktail or sip the traditional. Either way, experience the chocolate in a whole new dimension.

Original White Chocolate + Dry Gin

Original is lovely with straight dry juniper gin, made better when crafting a classic gin and tonic. Lime and white chocolate on its own would work perfectly but added to this cocktail it infuses beautifully with the juniper notes. The saltiness of pink peppercorn is a welcome addition and lime brings it all to life for a stylish summer cocktail that is sophisticated, elegant and light.

Brenay Milk Chocolate + Cherry Brandy

The silky-sweet vanillin milk chocolate combines mouthwateringly with the satiny cherry brandy. Both dance together beautifully, coating the tongue completely. The cherry brandy wraps warm layers of intense, bright cherry-fruit around the silky-sweet creamy-milk chocolate. A decadent pairing, leaving you wanting more with its lingering, mouthwatering finish.

Broc® Milk Chocolate + Rum

Broc with its super creamy and refined palate, highlighted by creamy, caramel notes, and warmed sweet milky flavors, is a luxurious milk chocolate in its own right.  Pairing with rum adds sophistication to the mix. Pineapple, strawberries and banana are also natural fits with Broc so a tropical rum drink such as a Piña Colada or Strawberry Daquiri would be a fun vibe.

Burgundy® 51% Semisweet Chocolate + Sweet Gin

Another gin companion as the alcohol really enhances the semisweet. The sweetness of the gin cuts some of the bitter in the chocolate and combined, the two showcase a vanilla perfume hit for the nose and a nice, complex botanical bouquet for the palate. The strong cocoa recipe in Burgundy also brings a chocolate-forward finish that leaves a lingering mocha taste in the mouth.

Newport 56% Bittersweet Chocolate + Whiskey

Good whiskey is made from the best grains, in the same way that Newport’s medium dark flavor is sourced from specially roasted beans. Although they come from different parts of the world, these two delicacies can find a new meeting point at your table. A glass of smokey, malty whiskey can lift up Newport’s roast to a new flavor dimension. Add a bit of nutmeg to your chocolate for an extra layer of flavor, and if you’re feeling adventurous, try chocolate and whiskey with honey as well and enjoy on the rocks.
